Ian McAllister - Program Manager
Ian McAllister is responsible for community features like ratings and reviews on MSN Shopping and across MSN, and for other MSN Shopping-specific features such as RSS. Ian joined Microsoft in 2004 after a 10 year career as a development consultant and then web architect/dev manager.
During Ian’s time at Microsoft he has focused on initiatives that can increase the presence of the user community within MSN Shopping and other MSN sites. He’s passionate about topics such as user-generated content, user reputation, recommendations, and other ways in which MSN can create a more engaging user experience by leveraging the power of the community to help users find the product or content they want or answer questions.
Outside of work Ian tries to spend as much time as possible with his wife and 14 month-old baby boy. He also tries to give his two Vizslas, Pippi and Tito, enough exercise so they don’t destroy the house while he’s at work. Check out Ian’s space for photos and occasional blog postings.
