Take TL27 as an example. If I follow the links and download this (as TL27.wmv), and a week later find the time to watch some PDC videos, how in the world am I going to decide (from the session ID alone) that this is the next one I want to watch?

So what I have to do is to copy the session title to the clipboard and paste it into the File Save dialog. It's a nuisance. And wastes my time.

But wait, there's more. So what I wind up with is a dialog with <TL27 - "Oslo": The Language.wmv> (I like to put the " - " in, since "TL27" isn't really part of the session title). But of course, double quotes aren't valid in filenames. So I have to edit this to <TL27 - 'Oslo': The Language.wmv>.

Except that we're still not done. Most of the bloody sessions have colons in their names. So yet another step to fix this to <TL27 - 'Oslo' -- The Language.wmv>. Finally!

If I have to do this once, it's a minor nuisance. But I've had to do this literally over 100 times (with more to come).

Would it be too much to ask that the filenames actually be in a ***useful*** format? With session names and no special characters?!?

P.S. Ditto for .pptx and .zip (code) files.

re: PDC2008 Sessions

Thanks for posting all in one place!
