Why is the conference only 3 days (not including precon)? When the PDC 2009 was announced last year, it would run until the 20th November.

It may be great for North American participants to have a shorter conference, but for European participants like me it means spending a whole week (travel, recovering from jet lag (twice!)) for just 2.7 days of conference (assuming the conference ends in the middle of the afternoon the last day, like it always has in the past).

Despite the shortening of the conference I still plan to go to the PDC, just like I did for every PDC since 2001.

Nico - I suspect the holding of PDC's in consecutive years means it's hard to find content to fill 4 days?

We sent 3 devs last year, I'd guess we'd send 1 max this year unless we see something truly compelling that is coming out. VS 2010 going production will not be enough. Our interest is in WPF, of which there was a dearth of material last year, so maybe they'll make up for it this year? Definitely taking a wait-and-see approach.

@Christian: Yes. We will publish the conference information as we've done for MIX and PDC for the past few years.

Mike, last year the videos were placed on Channel 9 and it wasn't very nice to download them, will this year be the same or will it be like MIX that has a videos.visitmix.com?

Can you tell us a little bit about the contents that will be in PDC'09?

@Nuno: We've heard a lot of feedback about making the videos easier to download, and it's one of the items we're focusing on for the site. To answer your question, it should be more like MIX (and hopefully, even better).

As far as what PDC09 is going to focus on, you'll have to sign-up and visit the site when we open in early August. :)

Any word if they doing Universal Studios again?

Having run of the park was insane, felt like a rock star. Probably late for the fight fest version, but still an awsome time.

Mike,

Attendees at last years PDC got a USB drive as one of the giveaway "goods". Tech-Ed Australia this year give away HP netbook to the attendees. Will the giveaway for PDC this year be able to top that or at least something similar?

Since most of the session contents can be view online, there have to be something special for the people who is willing to spend lot of $ to attend in person...
