Why you can't list your Porsche using Office Accounting 2007

A customer asked why eBay Motors item categories are not displayed on the listing details page. It's not a limitation of the Express SKU! The reason why we don't include eBay Motors categories is that we currently support listing to the main eBay site only. In the US, eBay considers eBay Motors to be a separate site and therefore does not include eBay Motors categories along with the standard item categories.

It is ridiculous, eBay Motors is eBay, and its not only for cars, I want to list parts for cars (which belong to that category) using MSAExpress but I cant, what genius thought that was cool...???

AA: I totally agree with you that not being able to list items under eBay Motors categories is a limitation and "not cool". As you know we make frequent updates to our service, so our team will revisit the issue.

Our philosophy is to try our best to make improvements that provide the most benefit. It's good to get this feedback!

I have to agree, I just signed up to list a bunch of mtorocycle parts I have and find out I can't because of the limitation. I am also a Microsoft Reseller and was hoping to be able to market this to some businesses I know, but they all do motorcyle parts and service. Lost sales suck!

Hi, I'm back. Kinda sad that today after almost 3 months I googled the issue fo find at rank#1 my own comment!!! (with 2 supporters though!)

But now that I thunk about it, this is not Microsoft's fault at all. It is eBay's.

Auctiva coders for example, had to find a work-around for this issue. It's so bad, that you can't even re-categorize an item to-or-from eBay Motors US. You have to create it from scratch. All other categories are 'compatible with each other' if you will.

There is no reason to have a separate MOTORS site. If at all trust and safety was an issue, what about gold watches and plasmas??

Now they've come up with their classified ads kijiji thing, to challenge craigslist. Are they so dumb that they are oblivious to the fact that the only reason why they are sucessfull is the ubiquity and centralization. Now they want to fragment it??? Why??
