Bio - Darren Laybourn
Darren C. Laybourn is the General Manager of the Outlook Mobile team at Microsoft. Prior to moving to this role, Darren was the General Manager of Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Microsoft Dynamics Mobile. The role is now filled by Dan Brown.
Since joining Microsoft, Mr. Laybourn has been leading frameworks and tools teams in the Business Solutions Division and the Developer Division. He joined Microsoft as a result of the Microsoft acquisition of Great Plains Software in 2001 where he served as Executive Vice President of Research and Development for Great Plains. Mr. Laybourn joined Great Plains Software in 1994 and prior to that time was employed by the Boeing Company in Seattle, where he led development efforts supporting manufacturing and corporate computing infrastructure.
Mr. Laybourn hails from the state of Washington and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Washington. He is married with five kids and in the rare moments when he has some spare time he enjoys golfing, going to Seattle Mariners and Seahawks games, playing basketball and winning a good bet.
