The study found that 37% of the midsize businesses reviewed had counterfeit software. The counterfeit software found was high-quality, meaning the businesses, who had bought it in good faith, were surprised to find that it was non-genuine. These businesses were found to have spent an average of $USD 10,222 on software that was neither licensed nor genuine.
