writer - Hal Zucati
Hello,
My name is Hal Zucati and I work as a writer here at Microsoft on the PerformancePoint Server User Assistance team. I'm one of the team members who will be posting to this blog about PerformancePoint Planning and Monitoring servers and our documentation for each.
This being my first posting here, I'll talk about one of my key areas of passion and work responsibility and a team that I love working with.
Customer Service And Support – The people you call when you can't find the information you need. This is the technical team that fills in the gaps to what I write, and helps walk you through areas where perhaps more clarity, detail, or additional process is needed to accomplish the task at hand. I talk regularly with this team, and I've been told that some of our documentation for PerformancePoint Monitoring Server could use some additional information in the following areas:
· Installation of PerformancePoint Monitoring Server - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb794650(TechNet.10).aspx
· Best practices and general use and configuration (post-deployment) for PerformancePoint Planning Server – We're writing more articles on this subject. Some information already exists here in our Planning and Architecture guide: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb821211(TechNet.10).aspx, but we're working on a more comprehensive look, in the form of a case study, at what a full implementation would look like.
One content area I'd like to highlight is the articles discussing Downloadable Implementation Plans, found here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc535015(TechNet.10).aspx.
This is one of the things that I think gets overlooked when deploying and implementing either of the PerformancePoint Servers — the planning aspect. Have a look at the content on the other end of the link above and take the time to review it. It can and will save you hours of time and frustration in your PerformancePoint Server deployment and implementation.
That's all for now, till next time.
