Not so Big Bad Microsoft
Microsoft gives tremendous amounts to the world every year. Not just in the form of the software we develop and how they change the world – we give dollars, employees give time and so much more. A few examples.
· Microsoft donated more than $2.5 billion to communities in the past 20 years.
· Microsoft employees volunteered more than 76,000 hours in 2006.
· Microsoft recycles 141 tons of material every month.
I believe Microsoft and the employees are making a profound difference in the world. Yet we still get the “big bad Microsoft rep”. You can find our 2006 Citizenship Report here. I don't think we get credit for all we do. I wish our corporate marketing folks would find a way to share more of what we do in an effort to improve our reputation.
