Hitachi Media Center VFD updated

I've update my Hitachi Media Center VFD. If you happen to be one of the folks using it, this version hopefully fixes some issues for you. This project was written using the Media Center Front Display Panel SDK that I wrote.

Fixes:

  • Now works after standby
  • FM Radio stations now formatted correctly
  • Volume no longer displayed in global sessions
  • Renamed "My Photos" to "My Pictures"

Omar: Extremely cool stuff. I've just found your blog by doing some searching for Media Center LCD/VFD information, and I was wondering if you'd be willing to give us a bigger-picture, end-to-end kind of story. I've been playing with the idea lately of putting together an MCE box, and having a VFD on the front is just too slick for words. Can you tell us how you chose your VFD, what it takes to implement the IFrontPanelDisplay interface for it, and so on?

Sadly, not yet. It looks like a great device, especially with the FM Tuner.
