Hi Mike,

Sorry to be a pest, but I still have not heard any word about my free copy of OneNote.

Hi Bruce - I just spoke to the MS Teacher Tech folks and they said it's already on its way.  Should be there any day now.

Hi Mike,

because of you're spending so much time with the Use of OneNote in schools:

(In Germany) teachers (particularly young teachers) often have to create "lesson-notes" about what they do. Sth like:

5'  - say hello to pupils and control homework

10' - present picture/question xyz

...

(of course with more details in reality). Now, this costs much time. You have to think about a new session and then write down what you have to do.

Now, my friends (teachers at other schools than me) and me are writing these "lesson-notes" in OneNote (Notebook: mathematics --> class 05 --> addition --> page: Hour 01) and the clou is: we're sharing our information via Windows Live Sync.

So, whenever I create a lesson, the next time I go online, everyone else has this lesson too. With worksheets, film clips or whatever you need for that hour. It's unbelievable! This is so much saving time!

I thought maybe you are interested in this combination cause imho it would help many many teachers. (espacially young teachers.)

sry for my bad english.. :-/

(math teacher ;-) )

(of course: if any teacher is reading that (and understanding my poor english.. lol) and wants to know more or share a test-notebook, just e-mail me :-)

That's great to hear Jan-Martin.  I'm glad you're able to collaborate in this way.

For OneNote14, as we recently announced, with OfficeLive support and browser support, your OneNote collaboration options will expand further.  We've been working on the new version of OneNote and are very excited to share our work with the world.

Mike,

I participated in the One Note Teacher Tech Tuesday webinar on Jan. 20th and sent off my verification to Teachtec@microsoft.com.  I requested a confirmation receipt but did not recieve one.  I see that the deadline for submitting the request is coming up on 2/15, so I wanted to make sure they've recieved my academic ID so that I can receive the software. I'm very excited to put it to use.  Do you know who I can contact to check on this?  Many thanks.

Hi Suzie - I just mailed our internal contact to make sure you're on the list.

Hi,

I just saw that on EverNote there is the possibility to rent webspace to share your Notebooks with others. But only 500MB...

I cannot afford a Microsoft SharePoint Server but I want to share my Notebooks with others all over the world. Does OneNote 14 support ftp? Or (even better) Windows skydrive?

# Mike Tholfsen said on February 18, 2009 12:36 PM:

Hi Jan-Martin - with OneNote 2007, we don't have too many free options for syncing your notes to "the cloud".

In the near term, if you put your stuff into the "LiveMesh" (www.mesh.com) you can get at your notebooks from anywhere.  It dones' support sharing with others, but for roaming all of your personal notebooks, it should work well.

In OneNote14, we will be making some announcements around syncing your notes to other sources on the internet.  We will also be supporting OneNote in the browser as well as the mobile phone so you can get to your stuff from anywhere.

I can't yet share plans around what specific storage service OneNote will be using.

Thanks for your help Mike!  I'll be watching my mailbox.  Sure appreciate your help.

# Jan-Martin said on February 20, 2009 2:48 AM:

Thanks Mike :-)

So I've one last question (because of I'm sharing my notebooks with a dozent others members...): Will OneNote 14 be compatible to OneNote12?

I mean: If one in the group will use ON14 - will that "destroy" the data for all the others like ON12 does it for ON2003 Users?

OneNote 14 will work fine with OneNote 12 notebooks so you will be able to share notebooks between 12 and 14 users.
