I've just got back from Seattle, where I have been through a weeks intensive Microsoft internal training.

The speakers were great, the sessions cram packed full of goodies and all I can say is it is now all starting to come together...

I couldn't wait to get back to my blog and start sharing my experiences with you.

So I have my goals for the year and they can be summarised as follows:

1. Work with ISVs until the launch of VS2005 and SQL Server 2005 - November 2005.
2. Post November work with ISVs on Longhorn and Office 12.

I know how cool...I couldn't believe my luck!

So unfortunately a lot of the stuff that was shown was NDA - I know! But wait, all of these exciting technologies will be showcasing at the PDC.

If you have not signed up yet, check out the site at: http://msdn.microsoft.com/events/pdc/registration/

At the top level, look at what is coming together:

We have the next generation of our development platform AKA Whidbey and database AKA Yukon...Right so that should read Visual Studio 2005 and SQL Server 2005. Both in my opinion are a first class platform and database. We have a new client and server operating system on the way and exposure to cool technologies such as Avalon, Indigo and Workflow Services. Then let's not forget about Office and its tight integration to the .NET platform. This is just scratching the surface of what is coming.

It is my job and the people I work with at Microsoft, to help provide a clear message on what is being delivered and how you can leverage to your advantage.

I'm ready for the challenge...

I look forward to hearing feedback from you all on what you think about our influx of new technologies.

Paul.
