PDC Update

We are currently in the process of rescheduling this fall’s Professional Developer Conference. As the PDC is the definitive developer event focused on the future of the Microsoft platform, we try to align it to be in front of major platform milestones. By this fall, however, upcoming platform technologies including Windows Server 2008, SQL Server code name “Katmai,” Visual Studio code name “Orcas” and Silverlight will already be in developers’ hands and approaching launch, which is where we’ll focus our developer engagement in the near term. We will update this site when we have a new date for the PDC that is better timed with the next wave of platform technologies.

Microsoft will have a presence at several developer events this fall to provide deep technical training on the latest wave of software technologies, including at:

VSLive! in New York – September 16-19, 2007
VSLive! in Las Vegas – October 16-19, 2007
DevConnections in Las Vegas – November 5-8, 2007
TechEd Developer in Barcelona, Spain – November 5-9, 2007

Help Design the PDC07 Conference Bag!

One of the many things that the logistics team is working on is selecting all the various SWAG (Stuff We All Get) items that our conference attendees will receive. We are starting to review options for the conference bag – and I invite you to help us design the PDC07 conference bag! You tell me….what kind of bag do you want? Backpack? Messenger bag? What features do you like? Water bottle holder? Color? We welcome your suggestions, and will do our best to provide a bag that attendees will be happy to use.

PDC07 Logistic Planning is Heating Up

Hello – The logistic, nuts ‘n’ bolts planning for PDC07 is heating up. For the first time in PDC history, some of the team members that execute logistics for PDC will actually start blogging about the event planning process – providing updates, posing questions, etc. I am the overall logistics owner for PDC (this will be my 4^th PDC) – and, personally, I am excited to begin directly interacting with you, our conference attendees – and the community at large. I thank you in advance for your candid feedback, ideas, etc. – and I look forward to seeing you in LA!

Developers, start your engines! The next PDC is on the books.

The date for PDC07 has been set! Microsoft will hold the next Professional Developers Conference (PDC) on October 2 - 5, 2007 in Los Angeles with two days of pre-conference events on September 30 - October 1. Save the date! http://msdn.microsoft.com/events/pdc/

PDC is the definitive developer event focused on the future of the Microsoft platform. PDC07 attendees will have the opportunity to access new code, learn about the latest Microsoft product offerings, and hear from Microsoft executives about platform developments.
