Sounds fantastic! We have a process at work that is very parallelizable. We've got some hideously ugly code to do it right now. I wrote a plinq version of it, but there were bugs and limitations in last years release that prevented it from performing well. The code, however, was much cleaner.

I'm very much looking forward to the beta!

@Bryan - I'm glad to hear that the code is much cleaner when you used PLINQ. Hopefully the changes in the upcoming Beta1 version will resolve the bugs that you have seen in our early CTP releases. Once we release, please try it out as soon as you can and let us know how it works.

@Waqas - We'll release the Beta1 As soon as we can without compromising quality. A collection of technologies such as the .NET Framework and Visual Studio 2010 take a lot of engineering to ship a proper Beta. We do our best to ensure that we balance making it as solid as possible and as early as possible. Rest assured, it won't be long, now. That's why we're already posting about this stuff: to whet your appetite. This is the amuse bouche to the next succulent course.

@Stephen Cleary - We'll have a dedicated post on the cancellation pattern coming shortly.

Hopefully, a couple of typos:

IParallelEnumerable –> ParalellQuery

It should be Parallel, otherwise it is a breaking bug.

IparallelOrderedEnumerable<T> –> OrderedParallelQuery<TSource>

Was it IParallelOrderedEnumerable or IparallelOrderedEnumerable?

Hi.

nowadays speed is very important for computer users (infact for all of people). unfortunately .NET Framework programs with all of their features are not fast running. one proof that make programmers use other languages. D language (http://www.digitalmars.com/d/) is a promise for C/C++ and other languages programmers.

why doesn't .NET test(analyze) a application during compiling, and finalize compiles directly to machine code, in order to applications will be run faster with high performance ?

Saad,

While D is a great language, there are a number of features available to a .Net programmer that just aren’t feasible to implement in a true “static” compiler. C & C++, as well as D, provide features that are sufficient for a portion of the developer community. The .Net Framework attempts to appeal to a broader audience. We provide a trivial mechanism by which you can ‘escape’ to full native code (PInvoke), while still enabling a developer to produce feature rich applications in far less time.
