Windows Live Photo Gallery includes a lot of fantastic features. We also realize there are some really cool and useful 3rd party programs available that Photo Gallery users could benefit from by having as part of the experience. The new Extras menu in Photo Gallery is the place to add-on those other great photo (and video!) programs.

Simply download and install one of these programs and start doing even more from within Windows Live Photo Gallery!

Photosynth - from Microsoft. Imagine being able to share the places and things you love using the cinematic quality of a movie, the control of a video game, and the mind-blowing detail of the real world. With nothing more than a bunch of photos, Photosynth creates an amazing new experience.

Image Composite Editor - from Microsoft Research. Image Composite Editor is an advanced panoramic image stitcher. While Photo Gallery includes the same stitching "engine", this application provides a lot more fine control. The stitched panorama can be saved in a wide variety of formats, from common formats like JPEG and TIFF to multi-resolution tiled formats like HD View and Silverlight Deep Zoom.

AutoCollage - from Microsoft Research. Select and seamlessly combine your most interesting snapshots into a blended collage, capturing the spirit of an event or trip.

We will be updating this page with links to more great Extras enabled programs as they come available. Keep checking back!

Are you a developer?

Developers only need to do a little bit of work to get their program to appear on the menu. Using the Photo Gallery SDK you can enable your application to appear directly on the Extras menu. Start here: http://dev.live.com/photogallery

Already completed the work? Please tell us about it!
