Delivering a presentation on 2 monitors (or more likely on a projector)

I deliver a lot of presentations in my work as a technology evangelist and powerpoint is something I use on a daily basis. With this feature, you can view the slide, see the presentation notes, keep tabs on the time and highlight points on the slide on your monitor while the audience sees only the final version of the slide in their view. See the article linked above for a detailed explanation but you'll find the feature in "Slide Show-> Use Presenter View and Show Presentation On:".

Not sure how many of you do presentations that regularly, but it's been a great thing for me.

Geeks II: SOA presentation

Geeks II was a great success and thanks to everyone who attended, the best part for us is to get to interact with the developer community in our region. You can see some of the coverage of the event already.

I've had some requests for the SOA presentation that I did at Geeks II last week, so I've posted it along with this entry. For those of you that attended the Architect Forum preceding Geeks II, you'll recognize the first part of the presentation on how to get started with SOA. The second part differed as I focused on the concrete steps a developer should take on how to actually implement the services since the audience was more developer than architect.

update: all presentations from Geeks II are now posted

Microsoft Architect Forum: Enterprise Search

Beat Schwegler discusses the topic of Enterprise Search.

I'm posting my presentation for those who attended and want to review it on their own. There was as usual too much information and not enough time (espcially in Muscat), sorry guys but I'm sure you enjoyed all the great demos from Amr and we had to make sure you got some food before it ran out.

I'm very happy we're doing this type of roadshow as it allows me to get to know the developers out there and meet the architects as well. As I mentioned at the events', I'm setting up an architect forum in the gulf and would invite every architect (no matter what level you are currently at) to join. If you are interested, please drop me an email or leave a comment on this post.
