I gave PowerShell remoting a try (Win7 client, Win2k8SP2 server), and it's very nice!

However:

* remoting to a standard user account is not very easy yet (I had to edit a SDDL string)

* authentication by client certificate uses *stored passwords*... ugh; I can guess why it does it (LogonUser or related API), but this is *ugly*.

Any word on the supporting XP and 2003 with WinRM 2.0? We are having issues with port conflicts with WinRM 1.1.
