Actually, my oldest son is the original Captain Obvious in my life, but Michael Campbell does a good impression of him in Performance Secrets for SQL Server Developers (sqlmag.com). Heh. Not that it's a bad thing. Being reminded of the obvious every once in a while is important.
For the record, the only part of the article that I disagree with is that those are Secrets™. :-P
