Architect Forum - Software Modelling

Monday saw the latest UK Architect Forum take place. This is a quarterly event where we host a day of presentations and discussions on key architectural topics. The theme of the latest event was on Software Modelling and comprised these presentations:

  • Overview of modelling from an independent consultant - John Daniels (Syntropy)
  • Model Driven Architecture (MDA)  - Andrew Watson (OMG)
  • The Microsoft approach using Domain Specific Languages and Software Factories - Steve Cook (Microsoft)
  • A customer’s experiences and perspective – Dave Thomas (Nationwide)

We then had an interesting and often passionate debate which I was fortunate enough to chair... I think I’m next in line when Jerry Springer retires J

We’ll be posting all the presentations and questions we received on the UK Architect web site (http://www.microsoft.com/uk/msdn/architecture/default.mspx) and will have a discussion forum in place soon as we can.

BTW, the previous Architect Forum on SOA can still be found at http://www.microsoft.com/uk/msdn/architecture/soa/default.mspx
