Back to the future
Yesterday I had the pleasure of taking a look behind the scenes at the British Library thanks to some collaborative work we're doing and ended up seeing some absolutely incredible artifacts. As well as ancient manifests like Leonardo's Codex Arundel (BillG has Codex Leicester) and other incredible literature which were simply amazing to see in 'real life', the curator showed me a 2000+ year old wax tablet which remains in perfect condition. Thinking that my Tosh tablet pc is really a natural extension of this primative device led me into considering what I would be seeing with the other thousands of folks attending the Microsoft Professional Developer's Conference this month. From 2000+ years ago right through to the future of the computing industry... all in the space of a week or so... wow! Perhaps I'm the new Doctor? :-)
The good news is that, although the PDC is already sold out, some of the sessions (like Bill Gate's and Jim Allchin's keynotes) will also be broadcast on the web - keep an eye on the PDC website!
