VB Rocks!

I ran a half marathon yesterday

Dim whatAboutMe as ShamelessSelfPromotion = True

Yesterday I ran the Super Jock 'n Jill Half Marathon. 13.1 miles in 1:43:20, or a pace of 7:53 per mile. I was shooting for a 1:45:00 (8:00 per mile) and I beat that, in spite of it being quite sunny and warm (nice day yes, but warmer weather drains you faster as a runner) and in spite of undertraining the past 10 days due to a sore Achilles tendon. I finished 331 out of 1193 total runners. Today I have stiff quads and calves, but all in all I feel great.

I'm not a VB.NET and I'm too lazy to look this up myself...

Please explain what the definition of the type ShamelessSelfPromotion needs to be for the statement

Dim whatAboutMe as ShamelessSelfPromotion = True

to be syntactically correct.

Well done!!! Running leaves one feeling great! Love it.

PS. Now's a good time to increase the distance and train for next year's Comrades ;-)

Sushant, there are half marathon training schedules at a bunch of Web sites. The one I used is at http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_0/133.shtml. Following a schedule was tremendously helpful. I just did what it said on the day it said to do it and I got stronger and stronger every week. I highly recommend it.

I think I will stick with half marathons. On Monday, I was really tired at the 11 mile mark, but I only had 2 more miles to go. If you can run 11 you can finish the 13.1.

Now, imagine this is a marathon. At the 11 mile mark you still have 15 to go. No thanks!!!
