Google Mail
I'm always skeptical of any news on April 1, but this article on Google Mail sounds pretty interesting. It looks legitimate to me, and isn't humorous really, so I would guess it is accurate.

I doubt you joke about something like that prior to your IPO. It would piss-off the SEC.

I wish they hadn't published it today...if it is real, it's excellent news and would seem like a fantastic idea (the searchable aspects of a large mail store - just look at the popularity of Lookout for Outlook (http://www.lookoutsoft.com/). If it's not real, why not?

The mail service is real, the 1GB space is not. Read the (fake) press release http://www.google.com/press/pressrel/gmail.html

Correct, I didn't have that link 3 days ago. It is clearly real and looks like a decent service.

Well I think it is possible to have free 1 gig. mail service, however it comes wit a price. Corporate greed prevents anything to be given for free. 'free' doesn't really mean free.
