What is Crossbow?

Among my work here at Microsoft is servicing the now-complete Crossbow Runtime, to make sure there are no regression issues with the latest WPF builds as it approaches its ship date.  So I decided to step back here in this blog and ask myself, "What is Crossbow?".  I could think of no better source to answer that question than the man who was the Program Manager of the Crossbow Runtime.  Here's the link to his debut on MSDN TV in February 2006, in which he introduces the Crossbow technology and describes how to use it to build hybrid WinForms and WPF applications:  http://msdn.microsoft.com/msdntv/episode.aspx?xml=episodes/en/20060216crossbowmh/manifest.xml
