The Visual Studio Documentary on Channel 9

This is just great fun! And, of course, The Documentary is all wrong because they left out many of my favorite parts *grin*.

OK, seriously, there is no one history of Visual Studio because of course there is a history for every person that was involved, the ones here at Microsoft and the many partners and users that helped to shape it.  I think it would be great fun for you all to tell your history of Visual Studio, and I'm going to do just that.  But it's kind of long so it's going to take me a bit.. meanwhile visit Channel 9 and see what they've got and start working on yours too.

This is going to be fun :)

I know it makes a better story to pretend it's Basic all the way down, but it's like Visual C++ never happened.

Microsoft C and C++ had the biggest impact on a vast majority of Microosft products. Most products continue to use C++ ... can't do any high performance product be it an OS, Server, Office and Tools product in Basic.
