Ci siamo quasi!!!

Domenica 26 partiremo per Seattle e siamo tutti carichi per l’evento interno più eccezionale e formativo (per la popolazione “tecnica” di Microsoft) dell’anno!!!
Come avevo scritto nel mio post, Fine anno … pronti per accendere i motori e …, ho pensato di farvi un regalo e di portarvi con me virtualmente a Seattle.
Per ora non voglio svelarvi i dettagli :) :) :) … ma vi prometto che durante la prossima settimana … tutto si svelerà e sarà moooolto più chiaro :)

Si,

ho deciso di cambiare “drasticamente” il mio Blog e di concentrarmi non solo su contenuti puramente tecnici o comunque afferenti al mio lavoro, ma anche di parlare di me, della mia vita, delle mie passioni e di come sia fantastico il lavoro che faccio giorno dopo giorno in una grande azienda come Microsoft. Si perchè comunque Microsoft sarà sempre presente perchè fa parte della mia vita … sia per quanto riguarda le ore passate al lavoro (molte a volte forse troppe :(), sia per quanto riguarda la mia vita quotidiana (anche per chi non lavora in questa azienda … utilizza quotidianamente i sui prodotti e quindi diciamolo … Microsoft fa parte un po’ di tutti noi).

Quali sono i due principali cambiamenti?

la lingua :) … come vedete scrivo in Italiano, la mia lingua madre. Perchè? Perchè voglio parlare di me e quindi mi sembra fondamentale farlo nella mia lingua. Ciò non toglie che la fantastica lingua Inglese ci accompagnerà comunque in diversi post … ma non sarà la lingua privilegiata.

perchè questo nome? Vi svelo un segreto :) questo è il mio alias Microsoft e mi sento ormai caratterizzato da queste 8 lettere che riassumono in un’unica “parola” il mio nome e cognome. Ogni dipendente in MS ha un alias che lo distingue a livello mondiale da qualsiasi altro dipendente … questo è il mio :)

In questo e nei prossimi post ho deciso di rispondere ad una domanda: Chi è Roberto Andreoli e lo farò in questo modo …

The 2007 Microsoft Office system is a powerful platform for building role-based, collaborative, and analytical applications that extend the reach of line-of-business systems and back-end applications to information workers across an organization. Office Business Applications (OBAs) is the general term used to describe solutions that integrate the core capabilities of backend business systems with the widely deployed and used business productivity services and applications that constitute the Microsoft Office System. OBAs provide line-of-business data, information, and processes to information workers directly within the business productivity tools, interfaces, and devices that they use to execute and complete their business tasks.

The OBA Composition Reference Toolkit reveals the underlying composition capabilities of the Microsoft Office system. It integrates seamlessly with the Microsoft Office system to enable a prescriptive, application-composition experience for information workers. These information workers can then go on to build and deploy OBAs by using semantically related OBA components such as workflows; document libraries, lists, and pages in Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007; Web parts; client add-ins for Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Office (VSTO); business intelligence (BI) reports; BI dashboards; and so on. The Toolkit contains a Microsoft OBA Composition Server and an OBA Composer. The OBA Composition Server includes metadata, administration, and provisioning services to enable cataloging of OBA components, administering and managing components, defining semantic relationships between components, defining the bindings between components and line-of-business systems, and to support the deployment of OBAs that users have composed by using the components. The OBA Composer is a Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) application that consumes and uses the services of the OBA Composition Server to enable a rich client and prescriptive user experience for composing and deploying OBAs. The Administration user interface for the OBA Composition Reference Toolkit is integrated into the Central Administration portal of Office SharePoint 2007.

I will be a speaker during TechReady7 (Technical event for Microsoft Employees) in Seattle and I will talk about Dynamics + OBA + Composition to explain how to design a Business Applications for our Customers.

I will post something about it in August.

Syndicated Client Experiences Starter Kit & Reader SDK!

Last Friday I talked about this topic with my manager. Try to think about the extension that we can make with this SDK to out Business Applications. Try to think about a Sales Force Automation: with this great SDK we can extend CRM with RSS contents (ex. Literature to support Sales activities). Our again try to think about an B2B or B2C environment!

In the BusApps space the old and actual question is related to the Make or Buy dilemma.

I have a clear idea about it, but I would like to get additional contributes.

The only thing that I can say it that probably there is no an unique approach valid for CRM and ERP, but we need to mix them.

What do you think?

PS: there are a lot of CRM books already published, but I'd like to write a new one to summarize my thoughts/theories. I saw a lot of books related to the CRM genesis and theories but no one related to REAL field experiences!

Techready and my New role

Dear all, the last Techready has been fantastic! The Dynamics sessions were fully booked ... I have never seen so many people in a room for Dynamics!

The interest was very high and it was normal: with the new release of Dynamics CRM (code name: Titan) we will release a great CRM platform.

The multitenant feature with a new Web Service called DisoveryService.asmx, the multi-language, the many-to-many relathionships, the new workflow engine based in WinWF, ... all these features and more will be included in Titan that will be our great major/enterprise ready release. As I said to Stefano Demilani in the 50-30-20 theory, Microsoft will become the Buss.Apps leader and Titan is the cornerstone for our growht.

I would like also to say sorry sorry sorry for the delay among the last post and this new one. The reason is very simple: I changed my Microsoft role in October and I invested my time to prepare for the new assignment.

I got the opportunity to become the Business Applications Practice Manager in Microsoft Services. This is a great opportunity for me to contribute to Dynamics Growht. I got the managerial position covered by Gabriele Galanti (my previous manager). Gabriele changed the role to become the Dynamics STU Lead in the Sales Division. I would like to thank you Gabriele for his great support during the last years and especially during the last period before the transition.

I will try to write more post in the future ... if not ... sorry in advance but I am working for Microsoft Dynamics Success!!!
