PureText 2.0

PureText by Steve Miller

Have you ever copied some text from a web page, a word document, help, etc., and wanted to paste it as simple text into another application without getting all the formatting from the original source? PureText makes this simple. Just copy/cut whatever you want to the clipboard, click on the PureText tray icon, and then paste to any application. Better yet, you can configure a Hot-Key to convert and paste the text for you. The pasted text will be pure and free from all formatting.

I downloaded this time-saving utility after reading about it in Duncan Mackenzie's blog (Removing Word's Formatting from text before pasting into .Text or other apps...). I put applications on a two-week probation period before choosing to keep them or not, but this one was an instant winner. Like Michael Swanson, I used Notepad to scrub text (Sanitize Your Clipboard Text). If Steve had a PayPal donation button, I'd use it. He has several other apps that are probably worth examining, too.

If you're looking for a PayPal button, PayPal has an ASP.NET SDK you can use:

Actually, I meant I'd donate some $ to Steve if he had the button on his site.

Steve also has a nice app called webcat, which makes an html file to display all of the graphic or animations in a folder, which is something I have found really usefull to save me the time of making up an html page just for showing pics.  It isn't a fancy web gallery, just a simple graphics display coder.
