Team Foundation Server December CTP

For MSDN Subscribers, the Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server CTP - December 2005 (English) is available for download on MSDN Subscriber Downloads.

However, be sure to read the fine print (I’ve highlighted some sections in bold):

Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server December CTP offers significant enhancements and greater quality over previous releases. This release is intended to work with the Visual Studio 2005 Team Suite.

The December CTP of Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server is not supported by a Go-Live license and cannot be used for production deployments. Migration from this release to the final RTM product will NOT be supported. Customers requiring a stable release of Team Foundation Server for production use should download Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server Beta 3 Refresh and complete the associated Go-Live license.

By releasing this CTP, we are providing you with the opportunity to track improvements made to the product since previous releases and to provide any last minute feedback as we approach RTM. We thank you for your continued participation in evaluating this pre-release software.

NOTES

  • Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server requires RTM versions of SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition (or higher) and Visual Studio 2005
  • Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server December CTP should be installed on clean machines only (machines on which TFS has not previously been installed)

Update: See Jeff Beehler's blog for more details about this release.

Ron,

Do you know when the final RTM product would be ready?

Thanks

This information seems not to have been passed back to the dev team, who, in two separate bugs (http://lab.msdn.microsoft.com/productfeedback/viewfeedback.aspx?feedbackid=4800f3c5-f9b5-4e62-bc05-a306c96b38de) and (http://lab.msdn.microsoft.com/productfeedback/viewfeedback.aspx?feedbackid=cf728a44-132b-4220-a0b0-9bcff6e674a1) tell me that to fix the problem we should upgrade to the Dec CTP.

What would really help us is to know how we can fix these things ourselves.
