Using Team Foundation with Visual Studio 6.0 and Visual Studio .NET 2003

We just released Visual Studio Team Foundation Server MSSCCI Provider Beta 2, which now includes support for using Team Foundation with both Visual Studio 6.0 and Visual Studio .NET 2003. This release works with Team Foundation Server RC, and should also work with the final released bits, too.

The Visual Studio Team Foundation Server MSSCCI Provider enables users of Visual Studio 6.0 and Visual Studio .NET 2003 to use Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server Version Control with integrated source control features. This release includes support for work item integration to associate work items with changesets, and check-in notes.

See Brian Harry's post (An updated TFS MSSCCI provider is available) for further details.

Can't get it working :-(

When i select the new provider in VS, i get the following error:

" There was a failure while initializing the Team Foundation Server MSSCCI Provider source control provider. You cannot use this provider to perform source control operations."

My Environment: Windows XP Pro SP 2, VS 2005 Team Suite (RTM), TFS RC

Will this work with the Beta 3 Refresh?

Hello,
I believe that "System.IO.FileLoadException was unhandled" is caused by strong name violation. Please disable it (beta2 is not strongly signed).
Also check forum thread http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=259723&SiteID=1

I believe it won't work with Beta 3 refresh (there were api changes)

Hi, anybody reported problems with frx and ctx files?  I can't get them to check out along with frm and ctl files from the VB6 IDE.  Is there a solution to this?

Thanks

# re: Using Team Foundation with Visual Studio 6.0 and Visual Studio .NET 2003

The issue with .frx files not being checked out along with their respective .frm files is a known issue.  We had a bug in our implementation of the MSSCCI SccPopulateList call.  This is fixed in the upcoming TFS MSSCCI Provider RTW release (due out next week).
