How do I download the April CTP of Sql2005? It is not longer available on msdn subsciber downloads. Due to the release of june sql 2005 ctp release.

(Reason behind the question is this note)
NOTE: Visual Studio 2005 June CTP is not compatible with the SQL 2005 June CTP, but will work with the included SQL Server 2005 Express Edition. The June CTP of Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server requires the April CTP of SQL Server 2005.

do you known if the C++ compiler code generator was imporved ?

By example, if the x64 binary target produce smaller / faster code sometimes?

The Installation Guide from Beta 2 should still be applicable for the most part, but it hasn't been tested.

The SQL Server April CTP is still available on MSDN Subscriber Downloads. Check for it in the same area as Visual Studio 2005, not under SQL Server.

I'm not sure what improvements if any exist in the Visual C++ compilers for the June CTP. I would suggest asking in their forum for that answer: http://forums.microsoft.com/msdn/ShowForum.aspx?ForumID=96

MSDN says that Visual Studio 2005 June CTP is not compatible with the SQL 2005 June CTP.

Has anybody tried to install these components on the same machine and made them work?

I would like to try these two on the same machine but would like to hear somebody's feedback. The only reason I would like to have these two June CTPs on the same machine is because they represent the current state of the efforts by MS in Visual Studio and SQL areas.

Also, with Visual Studio 2005 June CTP, will SQL 2005 Apr CTP work? What is the correct install order, including the the components i.e framework version? I have heard about the problems caused by the Sql 2005 Express Edition shipped with Visual Studio 2005 and SQL Server 2005 (not express but full CTP, Beta etc. including Enterprise Edition). Could somebody detail out the solution to the above issues and successful installation experience?

No, you want "SQL Server 2005 CTP - April 2005 - Developer Edition", which you can find here on MSDN Subscriber Downloads:

Hi, Rob.

We ( several MVPs ) have a doubt as to whether the June CTP release is covered, or not, ny the Go-Live license.

It would seem that articles 7 and 7.1 for the Go-Live license cover any "Updates" released for beta 2 ( which the license even demands that a "reasonable effort" be made for their installment ), but we'd like to have confirmation from a VSTS Team Developer.

Is the June CTP covered by the Go-Live license ?
