Telecom companies have the opportunity to provide a crucial link in commercial Web Services. As corporate developers and end users assemble integrated suites of software exploiting telcos' network services, they can leverage telcos' core strengths in messaging, call-control, presence, location and billing – all via programmable Web Services. Telcos could help manage the wide variety of service choices and billing options that each desktop may choose individually. In this demo, Carter depicts a Longhorn call center application that coordinates internal and external Web Services to assist a stranded motorist.
