Speech API beta RC work-arounds
Summarising a few issues/questions that were discussed in newsgroups:
Q: A sample app would be really useful.
A: I hear you. I'll see what I can do :-)
Q: The namespace is "System.Speech" but I can't see it when I try to add a reference to the project.
A: It's just called "Speech"
Q: I get an exception when calling LoadGrammar()
A: Sorry. You need to do a couple of things in this release. First, use the full file path, not a relative path. Second, you need to compile your SRGS grammar by calling GrammarBuilding.SrgsGrammarCompiler.Compile().
Q: I want a synthesizer in a language other than English
A: Microsoft only has English synthesizers available for download. However, there are a lot of vendors who provide TTS voices, in various different languages.
