Answers to speech API questions

Answers to questions from Michael Latta:

Q: Can the WinFX Speach Recognition API be used in XP? It is complaining that that component can not be used. I am using TabletPC edition which I thought has recognition features. Does the WinFX API only support Vista?

Yes, it works on XP (including Tablet) and Vista.

I'd like to figure out what's going on.  Can you mail me some more details (or post feedback here, or post to the newsgroup).  Thanks.

Q: Is there a forum / newsgroup for speech?

Hi Robert,

speech is still a very big and undiscovered issue (witch hopefully will be renewed with Vista), so there should be many devs like me, interested in this technology. So much the worse there's lack of related docs on the internet (at least I coudn't find them). All we have is a couple of blogs of your team, w3.org site and winfx api. It would be really great to have some more sources of information on speech technology. Your article in MSDN mag is a really helpful step in the right direction, thank you!

P.S. I would appreciate if you have some more useful links on this topic
