Tech Ed 2007 Orlando Day 2

At the end of day 1 we were sitting at 300 subscribers replicating simultaneously through a single IIS server.  The goal for day 2 was to funnel 500 concurrent subscribers through a single IIS server and we did it with room to spare.  Loke Uei points out to customers how much extra headroom our servers still have even while pounding them with 500 simultaneous clients.

400 Subscribers:

  • IIS - CPU: 25% | Memory: 299 MB | Network Utilization: 2% | Disk: 12%
  • SQL Distributor - CPU: 7% | Memory: 5.04 GB | Network Utilization: .81% | Disk: 42%
  • SQL Publisher - CPU: 28% | Memory: 4.48 GB | Network Utilization: 1% | Disk: 4%
  • Client Sync Times - High: 8.7 Minutes | Low: 1.7 Sec | Avg: 3.1 Minutes

500 Subscribers:

  • IIS - CPU: 22% | Memory: 310 MB | Network Utilization: 2% | Disk: 8%
  • SQL Distributor - CPU: 6% | Memory: 5.45 GB | Network Utilization: 2% | Disk: 45%
  • SQL Publisher - CPU: 30% | Memory: 4.48 GB | Network Utilization: 1% | Disk: 4%
  • Client Sync Times - High: 11.5 Minutes | Low: 1.7 Sec | Avg: 5.1 Minutes

Let's shoot for 700 tomorrow!
