Heroes Happen {Here}
So I'm at the launch event, ready to rock, but I thought I'd blog (initially at least) on a slightly different spin to the launch of Windows, SQL, and Visual Studio 2008.
That is interoperability with the Open Source Communities:
We have a campaign for the heroes that work with Microsoft technologies, integrating and interoperating with Open Source technologies. You can find it here at www.opensourcehero.com You'll find tips, tricks, techniques, and tools, not to mention candid stories on how to develop and work with the latest MS Technologies.
So official speak:
- Microsoft launched a new effort today, located at www.opensourcehero.com, that celebrates individuals who are doing amazing work with open source and Microsoft technology.
- {Open Source} Heroes features technical information for developing and deploying OSS on Windows, candid customer stories featuring everything from open source interoperability to The Hulk, MacGyver to Pinky & The Brain. We’re also providing a new customer offer called the Hero Hack Pack.
- What’s a Hero Hack Pack? For a limited time, we’re offering completely free (no shipping costs) evaluation editions of Windows Server 2008 and Visual Studio 2008, with getting started information for using open source and Microsoft technologies.
So check it out, and let me know what you think.
