Heroes Happen Launch - Take Two

So I'm here at Melbourne with the second iteration of the Heroes Happens Launch, and if anything, I'm enjoying it more than Sydney.

Last week I spent much of my time chatting to our MVP's, Usergroup Leaders and customers. And although I've been meeting heaps of people here too, I've taken the time out to attend some of the sessions my team are delivering.

What a team!

First off I caught Dave Glover talking about Service Oriented Development with Visual Studio 2008. During his presentation he introduced Jonas Folleso, Regional Director of Norway, now migrated to Australia. Jonas showed how to integrate Services using Virtual Earth into HTML using JSON. If you're interested, he blogged about that himself today.

Next up was Andy Coates doing a hilarious presentation and demo on Windows Development. He expertly covered topics including WPF, Office Development, and Smart Client technology. Then he even went Designer on the crowd (although stopped short of wearing a black turtleneck) and showed how to integrate a solution designed in Expression Blend and developed in Visual Studio 2008 in Team Foundation Server.

This afternoon I'll be catching up with David Lean on "Next Generation Data Applications" or "Automating Your Data Centre."

Great day so far.

Watch this space....
