Tech Buying Sage Advice

The other day on the Twitterfeed, someone, I forget who, mentioned the best way to avoid post purchase regret (envy, blues, disappointment) is to apply the following formula:

Days to (re)consider and research purchase = Price / $100

So if your next widget costs $1200, spend 12 days checking the intra-webs, researching the models, competitors, features, and best price available. If you still want it after that time, you're less likely to be disappointed.

Actually, it seems a pretty good process...
