Evening Before the Big Start Date
Tomorrow I begin work at Microsoft. This is the long awaited day since my acceptance back in July. This past week has been really crazy. Amidst all the craziness of setting up my new apartment, and many trips to Costco Home for furniture and stuff, I was really glad to meet up with Sam Gentile, Robert Scoble, Robert McLaws, Jim Blizzard, Mike Sax, and a whole bunch of other people on Wednesday night last week. Sam Gentile has a great writeup in his post. IT was really great to meet everyone that evening. I hope that we'll stay in touch. I've been absent from posting too many things here because of all my apartment setup woes, heck, I'm still on my makeshift desk (the floor). So, I promise that I'll psot some good technical things in the upcoming days and weeks, and of course reactions to my first day and week at work at Microsoft.
In any case, it's great to be out here in the Pacifc Northwest. I'm really psyched to be starting work tomorrow. :) More technical psots soon, I promise!
Robert has been at Microsoft since August 2003. He has worked on WPF Imaging, Media, and Effects, and Windows Vista (in the form of the Windows Imaging Component). He is currently the test lead for the Windows Imaging Component.
