STEPS :
• Perform a proper risk assessment prior to upgrading production systems to Windows Server 2008 and/or Vista SP1 (www.microsoft.com).
• Back up all the data on the production systems you’ll be upgrading to Windows Server 2008 and/or Windows Vista SP1.
• Develop a rollback plan prior to upgrading production systems to Windows Server 2008 and/or Vista SP1.
• If feasible, pilot test Windows Server 2008 and Vista SP1 prior to putting them into production.
• When buying new servers and desktops, think two to four years out when developing the specifications for the machines to accommodate Windows Server 2008 and Vista SP1.
