Introducing the Power Toys for Visual Studio Pack Installer

Power Toys for Visual Studio are small tools that provide aid to developer pain-points or assist in diagnosing development-related issues. In addition to providing support, the power toys are released as Microsoft Shared Source to provide sample code to real-world solutions and allow for collaborative-development.

Microsoft released a cool the Power Toys for Visual Studio Pack Installer to make it easier for customers to acquire useful out of box releases from Microsoft.

Power Toys VS Pack Installer

This tool addresses the disparate and non-unified install experience. We have also built a new external home page so that customers searching solutions can more easily discover them.  You can see that home page here:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/powertoys We’ve also worked out guidelines and best practices for publishing these sorts of projects to codeplex so that customers can collaborate, extend, and support theses releases after we ship them.

Finally, we intend to use this channel to highlight outstanding customer developed tools and solutions in the future.

Cheers.
