Announcing March 2007 Sandcastle CTP Technical Refresh

I am excited to announce the availability of a Technical Refresh version of March CTP at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=e82ea71d-da89-42ee-a715-696e3a4873b2&displaylang=en. My sincere thanks to the Sandcastle user community and to Eric Woodruff for providing us with valuable feedback.

Issues fixed in this version (Reported by Customers):

  1. Sandcastle: Mref ripping feature doesn't work
  2. Sandcastle: copycodeHighlight.gif is not included in installer for March CTP
  3. Sandcastle: BuildAssembler is throwing StackOverflowException when applyinig /internal+ switch to Mrefbuilder

Cheers,

Anand..

Thanks a lot. Now the /internal+ option works.

But I have another problem. I do not know what I'm doing wrong.

After generating the CHM, when I open the CHM I get a "( Default namespace)" item in the main page - Namespaces page.

I do not know why it is coming or how to prevent it.

Anything I'm doing wrong?

Any help would be much appreciated.

got it: missed the batch file in the Examples directory, which is up to date.

Nevertheless, the path settings at the beginning of the file reference 'Microsoft Help 2.0 SDK', which is not mentioned to be a prerequisite for Sandcastle.

am I wrong...?

I think it is a problem with MREFBuilder.

When I use MREFBuilder with "/Dep:" option and with "/internal+" option I get documentation for an additional empty namespace titled - "( Default namespace)" .

Eg: If I alter the sample batch file included to be like this ( assuming I have all the necessay files) -

MRefBuilder "c:\temp\*.dll" /dep:"C:\dep\*.dll" /out:reflection.org /internal+

I will get an additional namespace documented. You can see the empty namespace in reflection.org, reflection.xml. If I specify  "/internal-" there is no additional empty namespace.

Or am I missing something.

Any help would be much appreciated as it is holding my deployment of help files for a project I'm doing. Thanks.
