Introducing our first VS Core Community PowerToys Release – VS Editor Zoom Control

A very big thank you to Henrik Stuart for writing this VS Editor Zoom control and updating it for Whidbey.  I’ve zipped together some quick downloads of the control for Whidbey and Visual Studio .NET 2003 that you can find on the site.

Henrik will receive an “I love Visual Studio Core” t-shirt.  I’ll post a picture as soon as the shirts come in.

Got a suggestion for a VS Core Community PowerToy?  Want to help us write PowerToys?  Let me know!

Hi Sara,

I installed the vs editor zoom, and got various errors upon start up of VS 2003. I then proceeded to uninstall it and now i get 3 small bitmaps everytime i start VS 2003 up. I would really like to get this application off my system completely and would greatly appreciate your input. Also for future reference you should probably test your code a bit better prior to releasing it.

I worked with Sean offline (he contacted me directly also) and we were able to resolve this issue for him.

For what it's worth, we (the guys on my team who own add-ins) weren't able to repro this behavior on our VS 2003 machines.

Here are the steps i gave him to use...

To fix your menus, you’ll need to run “devenv /setup” from the command line wherever VS is installed at. For example, d:\program files\Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003\Common7\IDE\devenv /setup. However, you’ll lose any toolbar and menu customizations you have made at Tools – Customize.
