Attending CodeMash

There's just not enough coffee for west coast people who attend conferences on the east coast.  For me, breakfast started at 4am PST.  Hopefully this post is readable =)

I'm at CodeMash in Sandusky, Ohio.  First time in Ohio.  First time anywhere cold in winter.  Fortunately it is "extremely warm", meaning it is in the 30s.

I've signed up to run 2 "open spaces" talk.  One on Tip of the Day for Thursday afternoon and another on CodePlex Friday morning.  Also, i'll be at the Meet the Experts table Friday afternoon at 3pm.  And in an hour, i'm doing a podcast, which i'll post here.  And I have some CodePlex swag at the Microsoft booth, so grab some if you can or find me.

And i couldn't help it.  I had to wear my LSU sweatshirt yesterday all throughout the Cleveland, Ohio airport and at the preconference get-togethers.  It was a chance of a lifetime.  Most people were "not" amused, and told me how many title games Ohio State has lost this year.  Some even called me extremely brave.  (the inside joke is that LSU beat Ohio State earlier this week for the College Championships).

Now where's my coffee...

Oh yeah, BTW mom, i got a faux-hawk (it's a mo-hawk haircut style for women)  Correction 13 Jan 2008: A FauxHawk is a unisex hair style, probably created just for guys, knowing my luck.  Check out my correction post at http://blogs.msdn.com/saraford/archive/2008/01/13/always-research-a-hair-style-before-getting-one-fauxhawk-correction.aspx

I'll be there tomorrow giving the "RESTful Web Services" talk and will most likely be wearing something with Ohio State on it, so your LSU gear is most troublesome ;-)

Hey Now Sarah,

Pretty brave wearing an LSU shirt right after the championship game in Ohio. I bet your session on tip of the day is pretty good.

thx,

Catto

Sara,

LSU played a solid game.  OSU hurt themselves with turnovers and penalties.

Hope you enjoy your stay here in Ohio.

Go Bucks.

Is that a row of schwag coffee cups in front of you?  Just wondering hehe.  Too bad the roller coaster place is probably closed!

Yep, some codeplex water bottles / coffee mugs, depending on what you want to put in them.  And some codeplex flashlights.

In the airport at my layover (someplace that I can't spell that has lots of snow) I sat in the gate waiting area across from a college kid with an Ohio State sweatshirt.  A woman next to me said, "I feel like i'm in a sportscenter commercial."

It was great to see you here, and I'm glad you had a good time.

I will stalk you mercilessly this year until I see you've registered to attend CodeMash 2009!

Thanks for the open spaces contributions.  Hope they went well!
