Introduction...

Hello SBSC Community!

My name is Wendy Smith and I've just started at Microsoft this week in the role of Channel Development Manager.  I've taken over from Lorna Farrar who as many of you would know has moved on to a role with Microsoft Corporate in Seattle.

I've spent over eleven years in the IT industry working with channel partners  in channel marketing, channel programs development and channel management roles in various mid sized software vendors, and am looking forward to putting some of my experience to work to further nurture and develop the Small Business Specialist Channel here at Microsoft.

To get to know you better, I am planning to do a tour around the major cities across Australia towards the end of this month with - so I hope I have a chance to meet with you then.

Look forward to working with you all.

Kind regards,

Wendy Smith

Hi Wendy, welcome as the small business specialists

I dont want to start with a gripe - but as a micro business, time is one thing in real short supply. If you can do anything to prevent the new partner criteria for us micro's that would be VERY much appreciated. ("Partners will now be required to take an online course on the Partner Learning Center and pass an associated assessment with a score of 70% or higher"). As it stands, lack of available time may force me out of the program.

Thanks

Brian

Hi Brian,

Thanks for the feedback - many SBSC partners have fed back to us that a number of their customer’s where buying the Action Pack for their own use, resulting in lost business.  With this additional step of a few questions (many SBSC partners are saying it takes less than 10 minutes) we are hoping this will reduce the inappropriate use of this partner resource whilst protecting your revenue stream.

I hope this helps, and I do take your feedback on board.

Regards

Wendy
