Virtual Server: VS Admin Site on Separate Computer...

The goal of the whitepaper is to debunk the common misperception that Virtual Server requires IIS on every server or that the administration website (hosted by IIS) must be installed on the same computer as the Virtual Server Service. Microsoft Virtual Server can be configured so that the Virtual Server service and the Administration Web site, with its corresponding installation of IIS, are on different computers. A user may want to install the Administration Web site on a different physical computer for various reasons including performance, scalability, and security.
This paper describes a range of configuration options and deployment topologies for both new and existing Virtual Server installations. It includes best practices for constrained delegation & SSL usage scenarios.
