I second asking for "any chance of getting the bits early", how about for MS partners?

Why?

My current client hired me to improve their internal standards, frameworks etc. (or at the very least - put some in place) - and one of my first proposals was to take all the current Application Blocks, clean them up and turn them into something like an enterprise library. Then - I saw the "Coming Soon" page, and halted work - after all I hate to expend effort on something that will be replaced... (even though I am an hourly consultant)

Just to let everyone know... we are not competing with our partner.. in fact we did the development with them closely (we all sat in the same room).

Avanade's internal engineering department built an asset similar to Enterprise Library. We agreed to hand over relvant areas of the source code, give access to our top architect on the project, and as Scott mentioned work very closely with Microsoft to build Enterprise Library. This is why Avanade gets a period of time to beta test with their customers; Microsoft is not playing favorites here. Combining the expertise of the Patterns & Practices group at Microsoft with Avanade's experience with enterprise customers has led to an awesome asset that will definitely be worth the wait.
