I was really pleased at the turnout - apparently a good amount of people use the debugger. :0) People asked a lot of questions, and it seems like everyone was happy with the features we presented in general. There were two particular hot points:

  • the lack of data breakpoints in VS2005
  • the fact that visualizers for base classes won't apply to derived types

Do these resonate with you?

Datatips got some good applause, as did visualizers overall. VS2005 is exciting release across the board, but the debugger has really be improved. I encourage you to try out the Community Tech Preview if you have the opportunity - lots of new debugger features made it into that release. In fact, I think I'll have to write an entry describing how to create a Visualizer on the Tech Preview. Be on the lookout for that in the coming days...
