Can't install it. I'm continually asked to "Insert Disk" but no indication of where or what disk to insert. I inserted my 2004 CD into my CD drive but it didn't make any difference. I tried reinstalling Update 0 again (which was successful) but Update 1 still won't install.

We do have the same issue with both of our copies of BTS 2004 (english & french). Is the release a beta one ?

Same problem here: Can't install. Stops with "Please insert disc:" and that's it.

This seems to be the same file as the April 2 release. It is the exact same file size and when I install it, it indicates that update 0 is already installed. I went ahead and installed it, but the opening screen of the help still says last updated April 2, 2004.

Is there a mixup on what file was posted?

We've experienced the same issues, although mine installed smoothly without a hitch (for some strange reason!).

One other question, why does it require to shut down a whole bunch of important services in order to install updated documentation? Can't see many people getting away with that in production...

You can fix the prompt for the disk by editing your registry once you attempt your install.

The registry location is:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\79404B104ADDBA247B7C34F226033AE9\SourceList

Delete the LastUsedSource string.

The next time you run the installer, it will prompt you for the location of your biztalk disk.

That fixed the prompting for me, but I still can't isntall even after pointing it to the correct location.

I've copied the comments below from the Biztalk newsgroup:

..." copy the files from the CD onto the local drive. Run the doc update without the CD in the drive and you should be prompted for the MSI location. Point to the local MSI when prompted."

I ran into the "Insert Disk" problem and this fixed the issue.

Scott,

The new July 30th doc update fixes all the install issues. You might let everyone know.

As for additional content. BTS2004 is so different from BTS2002, we need BEST PRACTICES content with example code.
