One of the big issues I found as a developer with Biztalk was the installation of the whole thing along with its gazillion prerequisites. It was a frustrating experience. Can you make this any easier please, atleast for your 2006 version. Just to give you an idea, I downloaded Oracle's BPEL and it was a breeze getting the product to work.

Some sessions about the Integration Patterns and the worked out examples you discussed in your previous post would be welcome.

Advanced workflows with CMS and links in SharePoint lists. (todos with make, approvs, publish and all flows can result in redirects (declines) and accept and single or multiple persons).

Human Workflows (Issues, Patterns, EAI) especially with regard to specific domains. For instance I have worked in the Telecom industry and the provisioning process has an elaborate Human Workflow process involved.

Just for a change how about a presentation on solving the TPM short comings of BTS 2004!

How to architect End to End EDI Implementations using the Base EDI Adapter (Creating Custom EDI Parsers, EDI Schemas, Batching/De-Batching etc.)

1. I would like to see an extensive session on "BizTalk Server Adapter for WSE 2.0" - and in a practical sense what are the most "useful" protocols to use with WSE 2.0? A demonstration of one way (Publisher/subscriber) web services using the adapter (I'm assuming it can support this as I haven't actually tried it).

2. I would also like to see a bit more on best practices/ tricks and tips when writing custom adapters. E.g. working with streams as opposed to reading messages into string variables.

3. A bit more on the best approaches to advanced XSD validation (pipeline components vs inline components) that sort of thing.

4. A session on using MOM2005 w/ BT2004. Maybe highlighting some of the more useful less publicised features... e.g. alerting and removing messages from the message box after a orchestration failed to correlate.

Following on from Nigels fourth point - Something relating to administration setup and best practices.

I would like some more light on the following

1. HWS: I have had a hard time with, the only source of information for this is Christof Claessens example and the article alog with it.

2. CSF: I have heard about this framework/product being developed by microsoft based on SOA. As a BizTalk developer I have faced questions on it but have not been able to find too many answers. If the teched could throw light on this and any such products Microsoft is coming up with, it would give a better roadmap picture for BizTalk as a technology.

3. Highlight the good work done by the bloggers for BizTalk. I think they really deserve a word appreciation from the product team. They have in most cases filled the gaps left by the product documentation.

- Designing/Developing a Document State based workflow (e.g. Based on HWS or the like). Various documents travel through BTS and change state (e.g. draft, review, declined etc) and require user interactions along the way - e.g. to approve, comment on etc. <br> <br>This scenario is very common for a series of different 'forms' - such as Company Travel Requests, Purchase Requests, Provisioning Requests. <br> <br>All documents will go through the 'process' and go through one or more 'states' before being complete (finally stored in a WSS Document Library for e.g.) <br> <br>Based on Rules stored in the rules engine. <br> <br>Would be great to see if poss. <br>

Performance tips for processing large input files. <br> <br>Our application processes thousands of very complicated (read: messy business logic) and large (average: 50 meg) files on a nightly basis. <br> <br>From a feature/function standpoint, BTS provides a very compelling processing platform. <br> <br>Unfortunately, initial performance benchmarks indicate that several hundred CPUs are required to handle the workload within the five hour time window. Compared to the legacy application being replaced, that number seems quite high.

HWS seems to be the biggest puzzle of all times. It promises a lot.. but extremely difficult to sell. Any sessions on explaining the actual implementation of HWS would be useful.. we have done the famous lab 12 n times.. but to extend it to any scenario is one big task. An HWS session may be covering following points would be divine :-)

I really miss some best practices on how to use BizTalk in th enterprise! All discussions concern the technical properties of the different things in BizTalk. But I never see anything about how to organize the orchestrations, how to organize schemas, how to partiotion projects and solutions.

I need to see some case studies.

1. Like many others examples of best practice and integration of HWS. I.e. integration into the end user tools.

2. Debugging either with the standard tools or tips on how to develop utilities to assist in the debug.

3. Best practice on custom Adapters and Pipelines.

4. Deployment examples, configurations for performance, resilience etc. What affects performance and to what degree.

5. Market positioning, how do we fight against the likes of IBM??

I think we need to see how to progmmatically get at the BTS API from .NET.

For e.g. you might have 3 'controller type' orchestrations and how can you ensure that 3 instances of them are running (or in a state other than suspended(not resumable).

So being able to enumerate orchestrations, start an orch. up and send a message to it thru the API.

Also - a great example of a scheduled type process, that kicks off at for e.g. 12am, to do some background processing etc.
