Mini Website Design Contest

As some of you may have noticed, my home page (www.sebbybooks.com) is pretty bland. I myself do not have that much artistic skills and would rather focus my time and efforts on content rather than design.

Because I do want my website to still look spiffy, I've decided to launch a little web design contest. Nothing fancy, but the person who designs the best website template for me to use for this website will win a copy of my book (Shaders for Game Programmers and Artists).

What am I looking for?
Something simple, yet better looking than my current webpage. Plus my current template is somewhat of a nightmare to maintain because of the column layout. I do not want something with a database or such (not for now at least).

When does this end?
I debated whether or not to put a fixed date on this or not. Since I do not know how many submissions I will receive (if any). But I have set a hard deadline of 09/30/2004 but reserve the right to finish early if enough submissions are sent.

How do I submit?
Just package your entry in a zip file and email it to sebastien_st_laurent@hotmail.com. Make sure to also include your contact info with the email so I can reach the winner :)

Can you be a little more specific on what you want, you do not like column layout or wouldn't mind it if all those tables went away and everything was pushed into a stylesheet? Graphics? Lot or Little Or Don't matter as long as it looks cool? Any Specific Color preferences?

Guess i wasn't clear on what i wanted exactly.

I like the layout i currently have (i.e, i want to keep it simple) but the fact that i am using tables just makes maintaining (i.e: adding news and such) a real pain. Something using stylesheets could be a plus.

I also like my current general layout and color scheme but any suggestion on improvements (new colors, logo, ...) are also welcome.

Will update my website to reflect these extra details...
