Here's .NET framework 3.0

WinFX will hence be called .NET Framework 3.0. Read more about this at Soma's blog and find answers to some questions on this at jasonz's blog. Soma is the VP of Dev Div and Jason is the GM for the .NET FW – Dev FX group. So please let them have your whatever comments/feedback you have.

I don't know about 3.0, maybe 2.1. My understanding is that WinFx is built on 2.0.

What is "orcas" going to be 4.0?

Orcas would still be the next CLR. 3.0 is more a branding thing than anew version of the FW. For one, 3.0 would still have the 2.0 compilers and runtime and stuff.

2.1 is also a good fit - but i guess given the amount of new technlogies and additions made to WinFX they wanted to name it a full new version itself.
