I could reproduce the effect on 3 different installations.

Upgrading to SP1.

Provision a new PWA site. The publish database is still telling me version 12.0.4518.1016.

Deleting the newly provisioned site, without deleting the DB's.

Provision a new PWA site with same database settings.

The publish database is telling me version 12.0.6218.1000.

Does this mean that the first provisioning was RTM, or is just the version number wrong?

I made a manual upgrade to the database schema running part of the SP1 setup, since I restored a database backup made with the RTM version.

I has been a while, but I have checked a few things on my side..

If your database schema is not upgraded, this means that the SharePoint And Configuration Wizard did not run successfully; Check the upgrade.log file.

To run it manually again, use the command line version with the following parameters:

psconfig -cmd upgrade -inplace b2b -wait -force

Published database version is 12.1.157.0
